📚 We've compiled books about "solitary sociables"-- whales that seek out human interaction after they have been apart from their own species--and will dive into unique and compelling stories centered around orcas Springer, Luna, and Keiko.
🗓️ This course runs from early February through late April and is designed to host community discussions, guest speakers, movie "watch parties," and optional creative assignments tailored to each book. A full course option that culminates in an in-person boat excursion AND a virtual course option (without the excursion) are available. Registration information and more details can be found here: Book Club: Solitary Sociables
🎓 Other Spring 2026 courses still have a few seats remaining!
Bigg's 201 explores the marine-mammal eating killer whales that frequent Salish Sea waters, and our new gray whale course is designed to guide participants from the broader species down to the local Sounders gray whales that frequent northern Puget Sound in the spring.
ℹ️ Details for each course can be found HERE
