Today was J-Pod's TENTH straight day in Puget Sound, where for the most part they have been actively foraging in the so-called "Possession Triangle" just south of Whidbey Island.

The Southern Residents have continued to make regular visits to Puget Sound in the autumn, but in recent years many of those have lasted just a few days. From everything we've seen and heard so far this season, chum salmon are returning in huge numbers, which would perhaps explain why they've been enticed to stay for a more extended period!

With our Puget Sound field work coming up starting next weekend, we hope they will continue to stick around - and we wouldn't say no to Ks and Ls joining the party, either!
