Congratulations to our 2025 Bigg's 201 students!

Congratulations to our 2025 Bigg's 201 students! This morning, they gave fantastic presentations on a regional Bigg's killer whale matriline after spending the last few months reading and discussing scientific papers, learning how to make maps and graphs, working with real-world sightings data, and trying their hand at behavioral data collection in the field. This evening, we celebrated by heading out on the water with our friends at Island Adventures Whale Watching and seeing the T123s, including the handsome T123A Stanley.
Do you think Bigg's 201 might be for you? This fall, we are offering a fully virtual version of the course, so you can join us from anywhere! Registration for this next iteration of our class will open Thursday and you can learn more HERE
If you want to the full version of the class which includes a series of on-the-water excursions and a day trip to Friday Harbor, worry not: we'll be back with another session of in-person Bigg's 201 in 2026!
